Hello and welcome to my blog,
This blog was created to help fulfil two of my greatest passions, fitness and writing. A little while ago (January 2017 to be exact!) I was in a real slump. I didn’t feel good about myself at all. The girl I saw reflected in the mirror didn’t reflect the girl that I felt I was inside. Have you ever experienced that?
Wanting to do something about it, I tentatively took my first steps into the gym. It wasn’t easy. There was a lot of stuff I wish I had known from the start. More than anything, I had this huge sense of not belonging, that I almost wasn’t good enough to be at the gym. But eventually, all of that changed. I began to feel more confident as my fitness improved and a lifelong love of fitness began to develop. I can honestly say that stepping into the gym did more than change the way I look – it altered my entire mindset.
That said, I totally get how daunting it can be to start a fitness journey. Which is why I started this blog. Remember the bit where I said I wished I’d known some stuff from the start? Well, I want to write about that – all the stuff you’ve probably asked yourself before going to a fitness class, PT session, gym, fitness studio or outdoor fitness session.
I want this blog to cover everything you’ve ever wondered or worried about fitness wise. Oh, and I don’t just want to inspire adults. There’s a huge problem with childhood obesity nowadays and it’s pretty much a ticking time bomb. So I’ve dedicated a whole section to getting our kids fit. There you’ll find tips on how to get your children to eat healthier, drink more water and get more active – and it’s all stuff I’ve tested on my own family!
